Lenovo Laptops

Ok. In my last post I state that I will display my laptop thingy over here. Here goes.



Situation No. 1:











Ok this is their advertisement. Note at 1.05 into the video. It shows a spill prevention system.

Situation No. 2:










Note: At the end of the video, the laptop is still running with 4 lights on. And a viewer posted this comment on the video: " a glass of water split onto my T60, into the speakers, battery, AC supply and the heat sink. I turned it off immediately, dried it with a hairdryer and it worked perfectly withing 30 minutes. These machines are very durable and i have no hesitation in buying another one."


And speaking of which, my laptop went through the same thing as situation 2. While mine had 2 lights on too. For battery and power outlet, however, it failed to recover. Why? And now the problems came in.


The quotations for my repairs.





So I am in a dilemma. Should I repair it for 1200$SGD? Or should I buy a brand new one? And leave the 2,000$SGD Lenovo laptop in my storeroom?



Now let me analyse the staff at IBM.


1) They either had a typing error, as K is beside J, or they just plainly spelled my name incorrectly.
Note: My full name is Chin Kuong Hing, not Chin Juong Hing. Nope, I do not have any korean names.










Then again, They could not have so many typing errors right?



2) They are very irresponsible.

i) Firstly, an engineer came over my house at Tuesday, 5th August. He told me my quotations will come in at approximately 3 working days time, which will be Friday, 8th August.
And I waited till Thursday, 14th August and 7 working days after, before I made my call at 9am.
And to my horror, the staff told me that the case is still 'pending' and I told her that the engineer came over and etc, she told me that the engineer will call me back shortly.


ii) And so, I waited for his call (as my hand phone have no sound) and did not join my brother for badminton and Hafiz for his study group. I waited till 1030 and joined my brother for badminton as I believed the term 'shortly' does not refers to a 1.5 hours wait.


iii) I went back at approximately 1.20pm. I checked my mail and I saw the quotations. And the question is. Where is my 'SHORTLY' phone call?


iv) So I called back again at 1.50pm. The staff said: ' Oh, the engineer sent you the quotations at 9.40am already.'
I retorted back. ' Oh, at least he should have made an effort and called me and not be so irresponsible right? You know I waited for the call for about 5 hours?' and the reply I got back was a couples of sorry.ST A COUPLE OF SORRYS. IF I



3) And I hate being kicked around like a ball.



The Madam I spoke to said that I had alternative services when I requested for alternative services as the 1200$SGD does not make economical sense. She mentioned something about $150 only and labelling cost at their service center at Changi. So when I heard that such a great deal was offered, I asked for courier services.

And because I live in Western Singapore, I requested for courier services, which was free-of-charge. And I was directed to the service center line. And what he told me is entirely different from what the lady told me.

'No No, the repair not 150$. The repair is the amount that was quoted to you. Which is $1200 + $150 or 200$(I didnt hear properly) for labelling charges and etc. And if the guy come over your house to fix the laptop, it will be 200+ for the first 2 hours .'

' But the Madam said $150 don't know what then what riggit thing leh' I replied

' No. Its not. Its slightly cheaper only. Not much difference.'

'Got alternative?' I asked.

' Oh u can call pink gallery (and don't know what I cant remember. ) at 6xxx xxxx and 6xxx xxxx.'
' Oh ok.' And immediately after that I called Ngee Ann's Learners and Teachers center for help. And they are more helpful and efficient I think.
